Included transfer raised on every cloud server plan: now 500 GB to 4 TB

Every AFRICLOUD cloud server plan now includes substantially more monthly data transfer, at the same price. The new allowances went live on 22 July 2026 across the dashboard, the order page and the API:
| Plan | Included transfer | Previously |
|---|---|---|
| VM1 | 500 GB | 100 GB |
| VM2 | 1 TB | 200 GB |
| VM3 | 1.5 TB | 300 GB |
| VM4 | 2 TB | 500 GB |
| VM5 | 2.5 TB | 700 GB |
| VM6 | 3 TB | 900 GB |
| VM7 | 3.5 TB | 1.2 TB |
| VM8 | 4 TB | 1.6 TB |
Existing customers are included automatically. Every running server has already been moved to its new allowance; there is nothing to request and nothing to configure. Prices, port speeds and plan specifications are otherwise unchanged.
AFRICLOUD runs a soft-cap model for included transfer. If a server exceeds its monthly allowance, its network speed is reduced to 8 Mbps for the remainder of the billing period; traffic is never hard-blocked and your server stays reachable. There are no surprise overage invoices, and high-throughput workloads can opt into 95th-percentile billing instead.
While we're at it: recent platform upgrades you may have missed
The transfer increase is the latest in a series of platform improvements that shipped quietly over recent months:
- A public REST API, documented in the open. Scoped, IP-restricted API keys and self-service docs at africloud.com/docs. Works with Terraform and Ansible workflows.
- Team accounts with role-based access. Owner, admin, member and billing roles, enforced platform-wide, alongside app-based two-factor authentication with recovery codes.
- Private networking that costs nothing. Traffic on VPC private networks is genuinely unmetered, and you can set your own private CIDR range.
- Snapshots and one-click restores. Up to five on-demand snapshots per server, plus the automated daily-backup add-on with three restore points and self-service restore, no ticket needed.
- Wallet auto-renew with no card on file. Fund your prepaid wallet by card, PayPal, crypto or mobile money, and renewals settle themselves.
- Billing that fits how you work. True hourly pay-as-you-go metering per resource, scheduled power on/off, and an app-template marketplace for one-click deploys.
- Floating IPs with self-service reverse DNS, reassignable between servers from the dashboard or the API.
- Bring your own network. Customers can run BGP to their own VM and announce their own prefixes on our network, including IPv6-only deployments. Contact us with your ASN and prefix authorisation.
- A browser-based console for out-of-band access when guest networking is down, with nothing to install.
- A dashboard in six languages, including right-to-left Arabic.
All of it is live today on every plan, from VM1 upwards.
