Add JohannesburgEach figure is best-case measured latency from that region to a representative city in the market it serves. The city-by-city table below compares every region to every destination, or check any route on our Looking Glass. Real-world latency varies with your carrier and may be 10 to 30 percent higher. Compute, storage and pricing are identical in every region.
Best-case minimum latency measured from our AFRICLOUD test nodes to AFRINIC-registered Egyptian networks. Cairo, Alexandria, and Giza are our highest-sample destinations. For other Egyptian cities, verify from your own network via our Looking Glass at lg.africloud.com.

AFRICLOUD provides Egypt VPS hosting and cloud servers for Egyptian businesses from our Lisbon data centre, geographically the closest of our regions to Cairo, with Run #9 measured best-case routing of approximately 56 ms to Greater Cairo (Cairo 56 ms, Alexandria 58 ms, Giza 61 ms: all within a 5 ms window) via Etisalat Egypt and Orange/Link Egypt. Lisbon peers with Hurricane Electric at DE-CIX and is near multiple submarine cable landings. For businesses without easy access to international bank cards, we accept PayPal and 300+ cryptocurrencies, roughly a quarter of all AFRICLOUD orders settle in crypto.
AFRICLOUD provides Egypt VPS hosting and cloud servers from our Lisbon data centre. Lisbon is geographically the closest of our regions to Cairo, the Mediterranean route is considerably faster than the Johannesburg path (which has to cross the equator twice and is three to four times the round-trip distance). Run #9 measured best-case minimums (high confidence) from Lisbon to Greater Cairo are tightly clustered: Cairo 56 ms (the fastest, n=372), Alexandria 58 ms (n=101), and Giza 61 ms (n=654): all via Etisalat Egypt and Orange/Link Egypt, all within a 5 ms window.
The Lisbon facility is directly connected to DE-CIX Lisbon, where we maintain a bilateral peering session with Hurricane Electric. International transit is via MEO (AS8657). For Egyptian workloads specifically, this combination produces consistent round-trips to the major Cairo, Alexandria, and Giza carrier networks, useful for transaction-oriented services like payment processing, e-commerce checkout flows, and SaaS backends. For other Egyptian cities (Sharm El Sheikh, Luxor, Aswan, Hurghada), AFRINIC sampling is thinner, use our Looking Glass to verify from your specific network before ordering.
Egypt is one of the world's larger retail forex markets, and the same Lisbon infrastructure that serves Egyptian businesses also sits approximately 28 ms RTT from London (LD4 / LD5 area), where most mainstream forex broker servers (IC Markets, Pepperstone, Exness, FXTM, XM, FBS) physically live. This makes the Lisbon VM2–VM8 plans unusually well-suited for MetaTrader 4 / 5 automated trading, scalping EAs, and grid strategies, see the Forex Traders section on this page for detail. A Linux-native Wine + MetaTrader template is in development for Q3 2026; existing users can install manually on a VM2+ today, see our guide at /docs/mt4-on-linux.
Our Egyptian customers typically run e-commerce storefronts (Magento, WooCommerce, PrestaShop) for the domestic market, fintech backends and payment-processing infrastructure interoperating with local rails, SaaS platforms serving the MENA region from a single deployment, and development / staging environments. NVMe storage and AMD EPYC processors across every VM1–VM8 plan keep database response and application startup fast enough for transaction-oriented workloads. For single-tenant dedicated servers, we handle those on a quote basis.
Egyptian businesses often cannot easily obtain international bank cards for infrastructure purchases, especially for dollar-denominated recurring charges. We accept PayPal, major cards, and over 300 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and Monero. See our Bitcoin VPS page for the full coin list. Roughly a quarter of all AFRICLOUD orders settle in cryptocurrency. This is a mainstream payment rail on our platform rather than a niche option. Paying for cloud infrastructure with cryptocurrency is legal in Egypt and we provide transparent invoicing. We do not currently offer mobile money in Egypt. Verify live latency from your own network via our public Looking Glass before ordering; VM1–VM8 plans deploy within minutes after payment confirmation.
